CPM stands for cost-per-mille.
'Mille' is French for one thousand, and so CPM refers to the cost per thousand emails sent.

Example
If an email marketing platform charges $50 for sending 10,000 emails, the CPM would be $5 (since you're paying $5 for every 1,000 emails sent). This metric helps marketers compare the cost-effectiveness of different email service providers and calculate the true cost of their email campaigns.
