What is Email Scrapers?

Email scrapers (also known as email extractors) collect email addresses from the internet so that email lists can be created.

On the whole, email scraping tools are not considered good practice, since users have not agreed to be contacted by those who use the email addresses.

While building an email list by genuine means may take longer, ultimately, if users have agreed to be contacted they are more likely to engage with the emails sent to them.

Example

A tool that automatically crawls websites, social media profiles, and online directories to extract email addresses without permission. For instance, a scraper might visit company websites and collect all email addresses found on contact pages, staff directories, or blog author profiles. While these tools can quickly gather thousands of email addresses, sending unsolicited emails to these addresses often violates anti-spam laws and results in poor engagement rates and potential legal consequences.
