About the customer

The International Wool Textile Organisation is the global authority for standards in the wool textile industry. Since 1930, IWTO has represented the collected interests of the global wool trade.

With 38 members in 27 countries, IWTO’s membership encompasses all stages of the wool textile pipeline. From farm to retail, through research, education, and knowledge sharing, IWTO ensures a sustainable future for wool.

I’m pleased with the engagement metrics we are seeing from EcoSend campaigns so far. Our Congress Event updates and Policy Reports have seen open rates as high as 78%, and click-through rates as high as 43%. We have also seen over 300 submissions to our newsletter sign-up form, ensuring our audience continues to grow at pace.

The challenge

Wool being processed

IWTO first found out about EcoSend via referral from another happy EcoSend customer.

The Marketing team were interested in an email alternative which could offer automated nurture campaigns, which they found to be lacking in their previous provider.

EcoSend’s stance on digital sustainability provided further motivation to explore a switch.

In order to migrate from Constant Contact, IWTO required the following features:

  • Pop-up newsletter sign-up forms
  • Automated nurture sequences
  • The ability to upload data with custom properties via CSV
  • A drag & drop no-code email builder for sending out newsletter and event announcements

We’re delighted to have found an email platform that not only meets our requirements for high-quality email campaigns and user segmentation, but also aligns with our values around sustainability and ethics.

Results

Some friendly sheep in a field

To help facilitate IWTO’s migration, the EcoSend design team migrated IWTO’s ‘Ticker’ newsletter from Constant Contact into EcoSend.

IWTO then proceeded to upload their data from Constant Contact into EcoSend Contacts via a CSV file, including custom properties to help categorise their large audience according to membership status and subjects of interest.

The marketing team at IWTO also make use of EcoSend Lists to split their contacts into Newsletter and Policy Report updates; ensuring subscribers receive campaigns according to their communication preferences.

With EcoSend Forms embedded throughout the IWTO site, visitors can easily sign-up to receive email communications about upcoming events and / or the Ticker Newsletter.

IWTO also use EcoSend Sequences to send automated welcome campaigns to new sign-ups, offering information via a drip-feed sequence during their contacts’ first week, without any ongoing manual effort.
