As an educational non-profit organization, the Sustainable Living Association appeals to all of us as users of the earth’s natural resources. SLA targets those interested in, curious about, or deeply involved in sustainable living options.
As educated community members, we can each reduce the impact on our environment by developing sustainable lifestyles. Living a sustainable lifestyle ensures that social, environmental and economic systems offer a healthy and meaningful life for our citizens, without compromising these factors for future generations.
I was delighted to be introduced to EcoSend while searching for a digitally-sustainable alternative to Constant Contact. EcoSend is more user-friendly, has all the functionality we require, and most of all, greener! We’re also saving money from our Constant Contact subscription, so it really ticks all the boxes!

The challenge
Kellie Falbo and the team at Sustainable Living Association were first introduced to EcoSend by their website design partner, Ouzel Creative.
SLA were interested in exploring a move from Constant Contact, having experienced frustration with the platform and pricing structure.
In order to switch to EcoSend, SLA needed a platform which could meet the following requirements:
- Integrated website Forms to collect email addresses for the SLA Newsletter and PDF downloads
- Automated email campaigns to deliver PDF downloads after email lead capture
- A drag & drop email builder for creating Newsletters
- The ability to segment a large audience into smaller groups, according to custom properties
- A more economic solution to their current provider
The Support Team at EcoSend were friendly and attentive throughout our migration process. I was initially hesitant to switch, but our migration went much faster than expected. We were sending out our first EcoSend campaigns in no time!

Results
Sustainable Living Association kicked off their migration by uploading a spreadsheet of user data from Constant Contact into the EcoSend Contacts platform.
With EcoSend’s advanced segmentation functionality, data from this spreadsheet was automatically pulled through into EcoSend Property Filters. This allowed the team at SLA to split their audience into smaller groups, such as donors, volunteers, previous course participants.
With this level of segmentation, SLA are able to use EcoSend Broadcasts to send to targeted lists, ensuring only relevant communications are sent to their large audience. SLA’s campaigns include monthly Newsletters, event announcements, program updates, and re-engagement campaigns with past donors.
Additionally, SLA integrated multiple EcoSend Forms into their website. These include Newsletter sign-up Forms, and PDF download offers.
With these dedicated entry points, SLA continue to grow their audience and expand awareness of the organisation’s work.
