Marketing GlossaryAcceptance Rate
Acceptance Rate
What is Acceptance Rate?
The percentage of emails that are accepted by the ISP (internet service protocol).
Also referred to as the email delivery rate, the email acceptance rate measures how many emails were accepted compared with how many emails were rejected by the server.
By following best practices, email marketers will see higher acceptance rates, meaning their emails will land in the inbox of subscribers rather than being filtered as spam.
While no guarantee the email will be opened, there is a far greater chance of user interaction when the email has been accepted by the mail server.
Example
If you send 1,000 emails to your subscriber list and the mail server accepts 950 of them while rejecting 50 (due to issues like invalid email addresses or spam filters), your acceptance rate would be 95%. This is considered a good acceptance rate, as industry standards typically aim for 95% or higher.
