Saved Blocks

Saved Blocks enable you to save sections of your emails for re-use across all your campaigns.

You might use Saved Blocks for a variety of reasons including:

  • You want to create a re-usable custom header with your logo and other elements.
  • You want to create a heading style that can be re-used throughout your email.
  • You want to create a section that has elements within it, styled in a specific way, that you wish to re-use in other emails.

How to create a Saved Block

To create a new Saved Block, just follow these steps:

  1. In the email builder, create the element(s) you want to re-use. For example, this might be a styled button, a section with a background colour, or a header area with your logo.
  2. Select the elements you wish to re-use, and click the drag handle on the left.
  3. In this menu select Save Block....
  4. Set a name that's easy for you and your team to pick out later.
  5. Hit Save.

Your Saved Block is now ready to use in all future emails.

How to insert a Saved Block

It's easy to insert a Saved Block — just follow these steps:

  1. Go to the email builder and select wherever you would like to insert your Saved Block.

  2. Click the + button on the left, or type / to bring up the Insert menu.

  3. Scroll the menu until you reach the Saved Blocks section at the bottom.

    💡 You can also type in this menu to search, so if you know the name of your Saved Block just start typing its name to quickly jump to it.

  4. Select the Saved Block you wish to insert, and it'll be added straight into your email wherever you selected originally.

  5. You can use the drag handle on the left to reposition the Saved Block within your email, and you can edit the contents and styling of your Saved Block from here.

Hey presto! Your new campaign is ready to go, decked out with your standardised Saved Block.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Saved Blocks and Templates?

Templates are great if you want to consistently re-create emails with a consistent style and set of content.

Saved Blocks are best for creating a part of an email that you want to re-use. You can use Saved Blocks to re-use content or styling both within the same email and across other emails in your account.

Templates and Saved Blocks can be used together. You can have a Template which contains Saved Blocks.

How do I delete a Saved Block?

If you no longer need a Saved Block, you can delete it by following these steps:

  1. Head to the email builder.
  2. Bringing up the Insert menu (Click + or hit /).
  3. Scroll down the menu to the Saved Block you wish to delete.
  4. Hover on the Saved Block you wish to delete and click the ... icon on the right of the row to bring up the Edit Saved Block modal.
  5. Hit *Delete to permanently delete the Saved Block.

Deleting the Saved Block will immediately remove it from the Insert menu so it can no longer be inserted.

Existing instances of the Saved Block in existing emails will not be deleted.

How do I edit a Saved Block?

To edit a Saved Block:

  1. Insert your current Saved Block.
  2. Make the changes you want to apply.
  3. Follow the earlier steps to save it as a new Saved Block. Be sure to give it a distinct name you can identify it in the next step.
  4. Choose the the original Saved Block and follow the steps above to delete it.
